When we started covering the quadratics chapter I expected it to go very smooth, me thinking it would be a breeze. I very shortly after learned, that I would be a little challenging and my Palomar classes wouldn't give much help. we first learned the basics of vertex form, learning all of the variables involved with the equation, and then finding the different forms. We expanded on the ways to graph and find things like the x- intercepts and y- intercept. We were able to solve more and more, until I mastered the work and got an A on the final test.
Reflection
At first, during this project I had this large attainable view of what my final product, but I later realized that wasn´t possible. At first I wanted to test if the average human mouth could be calculated into a parabola, but then when trying to calculate, realized that actual mouths aren´t parabolas. I decided to change the parabola measured to a cartoon smiley face, and was able to find a parabola. I think something that I learned during this project was to make sure I know what I was capable of doing before I started the project.
