This project I think I had another healthy group. All of my group members pulled their weight at one point. This project took a large amount of problem solving in a small amount of time and it really gave me a different view of project work. In my group I had Diego, again, and Matthew. They both worked really well on the art piece, the interview questions/planning, the artist statements. I think that I took a leadership role this project because I made both lanterns, I finished up the art piece and lead the interviews, and gave most of the orders. I would like to work with them again.
In the humanities portion of this project I learned, from the socratic seminar and Romeo and Juliet essay, that love at first sight isn't real. Its just infatuation. All of my views were confirmed in our interviews, when time after time I was told that love comes with time and getting to know each other. From the anthropology lessons I noticed that the view of women changed drastically when women had more rights. I used humanities thinking throughout this project when creating a thesis statement and taking in all of the evidence I could to create the three different points evidence with explanation.
For physics I learned how to connecting circuits and explored the topic of electricity. I think that this has been one of the more confusing topics in the class. I am still a little fuzzy on the concepts but since I had the equations I could do it. I think we could have improvements in the materials we had in class because the lightbulb and battery that I put into my lantern were too small. My lantern looks half made because of it. I think if we got a little more instruction on energy this part of the project it would be easier to understand.
In engineering my favorite part was working with adobe illustrator. I am really good with creating images compatible with the laser cutter and I helped out a lot of groups in my class and the other. I basically spent all of my time working on cutting images into panels of the light box and putting it together. I think the extra circuit work we did in this class was a little pointless. We already knew what to do and I didn't learn anything new. I thought that the project work times were really productive.
In the last two hours of school before exhibition started, I did all of the work while my group socialized. However I think I worked very well with myself. A joke. At Charity Wings, our exhibition, we had our light boxes and art pieces exhibited. We also did our performances. My group member did the performance because I did a lot of stuff in the past few days. I think I would grade myself an A+ because I really held my own weight in this project and a little extra. This project was honestly so similar to many other projects that I have done. I haven't really learned anything special. I don't thing this Project is that useful.
